MORE ABOUT ME
Joanna Townsend, LCSW-C, LICSW
I am a therapist, a feminist, an empath, an advocate of vulnerability, a feeler, and a human above all. I hold space for others to process, explore, feel, grow, and reclaim their sense of worth.
I grew up struggling with the comparison trap, not feeling good enough, and masking my fears with perfectionism. Through my own journey towards self-compassion, I learned that it is not life itself, but our stories, narratives, and beliefs that hinder and prevent us from growth and change.
We all struggle. None of us are immune to feelings of loss, depression, anxiety, stagnancy, grief, and fear. I believe that allowing ourselves to feel and be human can help guide us through.
WORK WITH ME
I hold a license to practice psychotherapy in Maryland, Washington DC, and Montana and see clients out of my private practice based in Bozeman, Montana. If you're in DC and Maryland, I am no longer taking new online clients. But if you are in Montana or looking for video sessions in Montana, I am accepting new clients and would love to work together if we're a good fit!
WHAT IF I LIVE ELSEWHERE?
Great question! Due to state board regulations, I can only work with clients in the states that I'm licensed in. But you can sign up for my newsletter, read articles I've been featured in, or browse my blog for more resources.
